Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule Zuerich (ETH)

Founded in 1855, ETH Zurich is one of the leading international universities for technology and the natural sciences. It is well known for its excellent education, ground-breaking fundamental research and implementation of its results directly into practice. 21 Nobel Laureates have studied, taught or conducted research at ETH Zurich, underlining the excellent reputation of the university. Today, about 500 professors currently teach and conduct research in engineering, architecture, mathematics, natural sciences, system-oriented sciences, and management and social sciences. The ETH Zurich Sustainable Food Processing group focuses on a system oriented approach in food production via the consideration of the total value chain including emerging needs in society and their environmental, economic and social impact. Sustainable Food Processing is part of the global bioeconomy. A multi-indicator sustainability assessment is used as a guidance tool and is the foundation of our emerging food process development.
